1/31/2007 · [The normal way to come off Zoloft is to reduce the current dosage by 25 mg and keep going down 25 mgs at a time every fweek. Not take full dose one day, skip the next, take a full dose another day. This just doesn't sound like a doc who knows how to wean someone off an SSRI.

2. Dosage (50 mg to 200 mg) How much Zoloft were you taking? Most people take anywhere from 50 mg to 200 mg per day of this drug. 50 mg is regarded as being the therapeutic level of dose. If you were on a lower dose, it theoretically should be easier to come off of the drug than someone who was taking the maximum prescribed daily dose of 200 mg.

Zoloft withdrawal - BrainTalk Communities

12/16/2011 · After being on various dosages of Zoloft for about 9 years (yes, I said "years"), I decided to carefully wean myself from this med. Some background: my trusted doctor prescribed a "beginning" regimen, settling at 50 mg. I felt no better. A jump to 100 mg was the proverbial night to day switch, and I stayed with this level for 5 years. My doctor moved on and other MDs suggested inching the ...

What a prompt and helpful reply! I had read on some of the zoloft forums that very very slow withdrawal is necessary, but again I am taking so few mgs (25) , perhaps the process would not be as long. Thank you for your input, and I will make that appointment to see my doctor.

How To Taper Off Zoloft (Sertraline) | PharmacistAnswers

For Zoloft (Sertraline), it is generally recommended to decrease the current dosage by 10-25% every week for 4-6 weeks if you have been on the drugs for a few months. While this may not completely eliminate the chances of withdrawal effects, it should certainly reduce them. If you do get withdrawal effects, they are usually transient and mild.
